Nigel Gilchrist is a veteran of the backline and piano rental business. Over 25 years ago, he successfully established and built the first backline rental company in London, England. After moving to San Francisco and working first for S.I.R. and then for Pro Piano, Nigel founded Gilchrist Services in May 2003. Nigel quickly built his own backline and piano rental business serving the SF Blues Festival, Sausalito Art Festival, Marin County Fair, Marin Center, Filoli Gardens, Yoshi's, Slim's, Great American Music Hall, Stern Grove Festival and SF Performances to name a few. Nigel's goal had always been to expand his business into the orchestral arena to offer the convenience and efficiency of filling complete backline, orchestral percussion and pianos needs from the same company, a service often requested by many of his customers. That goal was achieved when in July 2004 Nigel merged his talents and skills with those of James Lee (Trey) Wyatt III to form Absolutely Music, Inc.

James Lee Wyatt III, also known as "Trey", has been a member of the San Francisco Symphony since 2001 after having served as Principal Percussionist of the Honolulu Symphony from 1997-2001. Trey's love for standard and exotic percussion instruments led to his co-founding of California Percussion Rental in 2002 as a source for top of the line percussion rentals. Trey has traveled the world to hand pick exotic instruments including gongs and bells from South East Asia. As his vision to expand into full backline rentals developed, he seized the opportunity to merge California Percussion Rental with Gilchrist Services to form a one-stop-shop for complete Backline, Orchestral Percussion, and Piano Rentals.
